ABOUT

“You got a lotta gumption, girl!”

- Grandma

My story is one of moxie, voracious curiosity, and never-in-a-lifetime dreams that keep coming true.

It’s been a wild ride so far, ranging from sharpening pencils for minimum wage to walking red carpets and giving interviews. I’ve gotten to work with such geniuses as Tina Fey, Bob Martin, Rick Elice, Alan Menken, David Foster, Chad Beguelin, Nell Benjamin, and Laurence O’Keefe. Each experience at their sides has been a masterclass.

I hold (well, technically the frame on my wall holds) a BFA in theatre with a concentration in stage management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Post-grad, I have studied playwriting with the Dramatists Guild Institute, comedy writing with The Groundlings, and television writing with Script Anatomy.

My secret sauce is definitely my ever-growing constellation of hobbies and interests. I’m a pretty great yo-yo’er, a diehard fountain pen enthusiast, a literary salon participant, a blossoming drummer, and enjoy spending time repairing/restoring old cassette players and GameBoys. I am my friend group’s resident “cruise director,” meaning I am always coming up with new activities and day trips to take us on.

I am based in NYC with my wife and favorite triple-threat: Jody Smith Harper. We were married onstage at curtain call of The Prom as a surprise to the 1100 audience members. The news of our nuptials was on the front page of the New York Times arts section and was covered internationally.
