WRITING
When my first play premiered at my high school summer camp, it got big audience reactions that I wasn't expecting. From then on, I’ve dreamed of becoming a writer and reaching as many people as I can. My works have been produced in NYC venues and across the country. Most exciting to me is that my plays have been taught in schools from the high school to graduate MFA levels.
My main creative influences are Tina Fey, Michael Shur, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Jasper Fforde, and my mentor Bob Martin. Studying that level of wit and absurdism (with philosophical undercurrents) has made my own voice stronger and funnier. Nothing, however, has been more influential than just living an interesting life populated with interesting people and knowing myself very well!
The two signature aspects of my writing that you will always find in my scripts are memorable jokes and airtight story structure. With these two pillars, I know I can explore any topic under the sun in deeply hilarious, smart, and accessible ways.
My niche in television writing is in single-cam half-hour sitcoms and my niche in the world of theatre is comedic musicals and dystopian plays.
BROADWAY’S SCRIPT COORDINATOR
I have served as a script coordinator for several original musicals and plays ranging from off-off-off-Broadway to Tony-nominated blockbuster Broadway productions. I am a wizard with Final Draft and WriterDuet.
As Broadway’s script coordinator, I:
manage the master script file
document and distribute all script revisions
generate helpful revision guides
keep script formatting clean and standard
conduct research for the authors
proofread and provide continuity checks
record a timeline of ideas
I form a relationship with each creative on the team as well as each actor, as I circulate the proper script changes to them and can explain the artistic and practical reasons for each change as needed.
More than anything, I work as the right-hand woman to the authors. I am by their side from the very first writing sessions until opening night. It's my pleasure to take all of the technical work off the plate of authors so that they can focus on creation.
COPY/LINE EDITING
I freelance as a copy editor, line editor, formatting expert, and proofreader. Born out of my script coordination career, my editing work combines my extensive proofreading work with the multiple literary & dramatic criticism classes I took at the university level. I am more than comfortable editing for content as well as technical errors. I specialize in screenplays, play scripts, librettos, educational materials, and novels.
